Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse: Things To Ensure You’re Ready

The zombie apocalypse could happen at any moment, and the last thing that you want is to find yourself completely unprepared for everything that lies ahead. From having the skills that you need to stay alive to the defense tactics needed to take on a zombie, there are so many things that you can do to ensure you and your closest group of friends are prepared for the zombie apocalypse.

Here at Trapped Escape Game in Nashville, we take the zombie apocalypse very seriously, which is why we have worked hard to create a list of the different skills and things that you can do to be fully prepared for some of the most daunting parts of a zombie apocalypse. Let’s get started.

Water

One of the first things that you need to figure out is what your source of water will be. Water is a must and something that everyone is going to be looking for immediately after an outbreak. Having some water supply saved up in your home and in your car can prolong the need for going out and finding a water source. Even so, water is something that should always be on your radar, so it’s good to have a general idea of what the surrounding natural water sources are and which your best option would be.

Food

Another major thing that needs to be figured out is what your primary food source will be and how you’re going to continue to provide food for you and any children or friends. One of the most common ways that people plan on stocking up on food is by raiding grocery stores, gas stations, and major warehouses. While those are the places where large amounts of food can be stored, the zombie apocalypse isn’t going to bring your typical grocery store crowd to these places.

Given that these are such common places for people to want to go to for food sources, it’s better to find alternate means of a food source. Turning to hunting, berries and plants is a much more sustainable option. In order to do that, however, you do need to make sure you’re taking the time to learn about how to survive off these means safely. From hunting technique to the types of plants that you want to stay away from, taking time to learn about what to do and what not to do can be the difference between living through the zombie apocalypse or not.

Defense Tactics

Defending yourself against zombies and people trying to steal your supplies is something that you need to be prepared for, which is why you want to start working on some defense tactics. There are so many different ways that you can defend yourself, finding something that works for or that you’re comfortable is entirely possible. From weaponry to fighting techniques, spending some time preparing for what it’ll take to defend yourself throughout the zombie apocalypse is something you won’t ever regret having taken the time to do.

Shelter

You’re always going to want to find a shelter that can help keep you safe from the countless dangers of a zombie apocalypse, but also from the inevitable elements that you’re going to have to deal with. Shelter is another must-have factor in preparing for the zombie apocalypse, and again there are various things that you’ll want to do to prepare for so that you are able to find shelter during this time. One of the things you’ll want to practice is clearing a building to make sure that it’s safe. Otherwise, spending some time building reliable structures out of various materials is a great way to ensure you have a sound roof over your head during the zombie apocalypse.

Fire Building

Heat is something that you absolutely need to figure out during the zombie apocalypse. Not only will heat ensure you’re able to stay warm, but it is a must for cooking food and sterilizing water. You never know what materials you’re going to have access to during the zombie apocalypse, so you want to have mastered the act of starting a fire so that you’re able to get creative when/if you need to.

First Aid Kit and Medicine

The last thing that we’re going to talk about in today’s blog that can help ensure you survive the zombie apocalypse is a first aid kit that includes medicine. Accidents and injuries are bound to happen, so you want to make sure that you’re prepared. A stocked up first-aid kit is something that you absolutely want to have ready and within your home. Make sure it has all of the disinfectants, bandages, and supplies that you’d need to tackle some of the most basic cuts.

Inside of your first-aid kit, you also want to make sure that you have some very basic brands of medicine that you turn to during the zombie apocalypse. From basic Ibuprofen to some generic cough and cold medicine, medication is something you won’t ever regret having handy.
